Nestled in the peaceful countryside between the village of Ballinspittle and town of Kinsale, County Cork, the Ringfinnan Garden of Remembrance stands as a living tribute to the 343 members of the FDNY who tragically lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

Established by Kathleen Murphy – a former nurse at Lennox Hill Hospital – each tree in this quiet sanctuary was planted on Kathleen’s land in honour of an individual FDNY member, marked with their name, unit, and a flag.

Whether you are paying your respects from afar or planning a trip to walk among the trees, this is your dedicated guide to the garden’s story, location, and ongoing preservation.

Funding for this website was generously donated by Tim and Joan Delaney in memory of Tim’s late father, Lt. David P Delaney Jr. (FDNY Marine Division).

This is a great location and a fitting memorial to the 343 heroes who lost their lives. Being a retired firefighter I felt compelled to return to this site with ex colleagues and pay our respects.
